RD28t blown head

Was wondering what the main or common reasons are why the head gasket would blow got one to fix so i was looking for some idea of what to check first.

(Currently trying to talk him into a TD42 conversion.)

age.... most 2.8's are about 10 years old now.

I wouldn't have thought age to be the cause for a gasket to go on a head being made from a metal compossite material, i would have figured it to be more from adverse conditions in the motor, however i shall soon see i suppose.

they tend to blow the head about 180-210 ... usually because of the headgasket giving up ... some of them have a composit headgasket, and others a metal one, the metal one last longer.
Some of the guys up here renew their gaskets around 150, and they are still going at 240 .....

Got 230k on mine. And the only thing ive fixed is a welsh plug

OE clutch aswell and injectors have never been touched too
