Been considering a NM/NP Pajero as a second vehicle but would still like to do a few things and was wondering about the the 3.15 t-case gears. Do they fit the DiD auto? Also how good is the rear LSD? Is there a rear locker option available that fits this model?

Briefly:
Don't know.
Very good - Torsen.
Factory rear locker in some markets, not Aus. ARB front available (RD110), rear in development.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi CJ,

I am having the 3.15 gears fitted to my NL auto as we speak.

I dont think anyone knows for sure if they'll fit the models after the NL.

Frank who is a regular here has organised all this with his mate Mark Hardman , a gear cutter in Melb. I dont even know if Frank has been able to get inside the NM gearbox/transfer case.

He is the guy to direct your questions to.

Anyway the install is going well except for a slight problem with the recess on the idler gear that takes the bearing circlip. Once the bearing is on there isnt enough room for the clip to go in. They are going to machine a bit off the bearing sleeve which should solve this problem.

Apart from this wee problem , it seems like a pretty easy straight forward installation. (I say this hoping that no more problems crop up)

cheers

Thanks guys.

Frank, apparently you are the man who may be able to help out here. Do you know yet if the t-case gears that you have organised will fit the NM/NP DiD auto?

Hi CJ, I'm not 100% sure at this stage if they fit an NM/NP Paj as yet.
Once Ian has got his gears in and working I will be looking for a volunteer to fit these to a NM/NP Paj to see if they fit. We will supply the gears free for fitment (at the owners cost of course) if they fit ok then payment for the gears can be made. If they don't fit then the gears are sent back to us (we will pay the postage).
I'm confident they will but we need to be 100% sure you would be amazed at how much they changed stuff.

Guys,

Well I had hoped to get my vehicle on Friday & test this weekend, BUT

the new bearing & circlip didnt get to the guys at Nash Off Road til Friday arvo, so they didnt have time to machine a bit off the sleeve & put it all back together. Bugger , but these things happen.

So it will be Monday arvo before I pick up , but I should be able to give it a run around my property after that. I will post my impressions Monday night (all being well)

cheers
