Hey guys, any one attempted making there own weld on beadocks. My old man has all the facilities to plasma cutters etc. Wat thickness steel should i use and they will be welded to 16inch roh trak II. Will i have to cut the lip off the rim? Any suggestions?
Thanks Julian

There are a few topics on this already if u have a search.
Mine are 6mm steel welded straight to the lip and clamped with 24 bolts

Im now making my rings out of 10mm plate and machining a step on them to centralise the tyre this also keeps the tyre away from the bolts which are 10mm grade 8.8 use 24 bolts with nyloc nuts The step on the rings is 5mm on each giving you a 10mm gap before the tyre starts to be compressed works well just drop the ring on top of your rim make sure its all clean tack in 4 spots then weld on i use 2.5mm rods and run one rod on one side then one on the opposite side never had a poroblem just when maching your step for the tyre to sit around make sure of the tyres inside diameter as they do vary.you dont need to machine the step but its nice as with the 6mm thick rings i have been useing with no step the rings end up pulling down to form a slight cone as there is nothing for the inner edge to pull up against
