I'm not into rockcrawling and want to gear the trukster up for highway use. Will a healthy 6.2 diesel in an FJ60 pull 3.45 (3.54 ?) diffs OK ? I'm aiming at 2000RPM @ 100kph. I'm not sure that 3.7 is tall enough.

I plan on using 4th for towing and at present it's too low, and 5th is weak (so I'm told).

Oh, It's a standard 5-speed with factory rims and 235/85-R16 tyres.

What do I do to recalibrate the speedo ?

Can you buy 3.54 diff crown wheel and pinions? I thought 3.7 was as tall as they go. According to my calculations, with 3.7 gears you would be doing 2040RPM at 100kph in 5th gear. The 3.7 gears were standard in US Spec FJ60's so you should be able to pick them up cheap from there.

Try this for speedo correction too.
