removing an FJ73 FRP roof

ok i cant get the bugger off
I've removed the row of bolts into the windscreen frame
I've removed the row int he centre of the roof going thru the rollbar
I've removed the one in the back corners
I've removed the ones in the top back corner of the front door openings
where are there other hidden bolts? or is there a trick?

There are 4 down either side under the windows. you have to remove the interior trim. and there is one on either side just behind the doors behind the frp badge.

Roly (like you'd be strong enough to lift the roof off),
How does it look?
I assume with the rear doors it looks somewhat naff but that aside, is it ok looking?
I was toying with the idea of chopping the rear part of the roof off (still keep the bit over the driver plus the raised part immediately behind it) then moving the very rear of the roof ( part where rear doors fit) so as to create a longer section to then install a rear window and keep the cab sealed.
Does it make any more noise with the roof off (is there any extra chassis twisting)

I never drove mine off road with the roof on, I bought it, drove it home and then started removing bits and pieces...
Mine has no roof squeaks but Rookie's does, are they all like that? If so, it would annoy me enough to remove the entire roof... ;-)

Yep, my roof squeaks. Although now that you have mentioned it doesnt seem to have done it for a while now.

stupid question...
if you remove an frp roof and get a soft top made for it or a soft top to make it into a ute, do you need an engineers if the roll bars stay intact??
need to re-body the bundy was thinking of an frb version. (i know yours isnt a bundy
)

Shouldnt need an engineers as such. But would prob need a blue plate. And let the transport know and also your insurance.

yeah be different in vic, what does FRP stand for? as i see htey have the rubber holders on the bonnet as it the removable roof is something they expect the end user to do, which would mean it would have to pass relevant adr's without it.
kind of like the old bedford vans you see people driving with the door open, vicroads say they discourage it but its not illegal as such.

FRP= fiberglass reinforced plastic
RUBBER HOLDERS= for use when you fold the windscreen frame down, bundera's that have those generally had two piece windows on all the doors, which meant that the top section of the doors unbolted removing the glass and leaving factory half doors.
