75 CV's in hilux ?? please answer.

ive been told and by a mechanic that if i swap the inner axles that they fit straght in is this tru as ive also heard that all u need to do is grind a littile bit off the flat bit in the housing . pls tell me as i killed a CV at beerwah on thre w/end and have 2 75 CV's given to me and if it works i have saved acouple of hundred i dare say.

1989 and older 75 series CV should fit right in. Post 1990 75 series CV have a ridge along the bell part. When I tried to fit this into an older 40 series diff housing, I found the CV would bind anywhere past 30-35 degrees.
Post 1990 CV is the third one from the left. Hilux CV looks identical to the second one from the left:

kewl the 75 one i have is te 2nd from the left i thivk what are saying is that this will be the one that will fit . cause the last 2 look nuffing like the 75 one i have or the hilux ones. am i rite pls tell me if im not.

Get yourself some Haultecks (PM Ruff) and wheel with confidence
( and keep the 75's as back ups just in case)

wish i could afford them . the 75,s are getting used cause there there and they didnt cost. when i get lockers , crwler bx and hi steer the haultechs are happening at the same time , i think ill be lookn bout a $ 10,000 spend next as im building a tray and cage as well. but haultechs would be nice.

yeah ot worked only took 2 wacks with a lump off billet alum and a lump hammer . and slotted straght in.
