Can vary depending what they are on, but generally 7.50r16 or 205/16R but i fitted 235/85/16 you can really fit a few different options

I assume it is inches, but what measurement. Width? That would make it a 190/??/r16.

I am trying to decide what to do with the spare wheel situation on my 80.
I have been looking underneath and reckong i could raise the spare wheel support and mechanism up by two inches scene i have a 2 inch body lift. So what i am thinking of doing is raising that and then fitting the skinny est rim and tyre combo I can find up under there.

(What would be the skiniest tyre rim combo I could get?)
Can you get a tyre on a 6inch R16 rim to suit a 80 series cruiser

I would than generally just get arround with this for a spare, and when I go out for some seriouse off roading I would throw the 315/75/r16 spare in the back of the car.

I used to have my spare under the back end and it was jsut the standard split rim. It actuall sat under there really well and dosent hang down at all. I reckon if you moved the mount up 2" then a full size spare would disappear pretty well. Just make sure you can still get to the winder

When you say it sits up out of the way I take it you have a tow bar fitted.
I have removed my towbar and it hangs down a mile now. Way more than two inches. More like 4 inches

yes towbar fitted. I would imagine it would hang down a bit without it

7.50R16 came on cruisers, Hilux's come with smaller tyres mounted to the same split rims.

The tyre and rim association manual lists a 7.50R16LT tyre to have an overall diametre of 812mm(closer to 32") and a section width of 208mm(8.18")

The tyre and rim association manual also lists an 8.25R16LT which is listed as width:230mm(9") and diameter: 870mm(34.25") bu also lists the rim width as 6.5" as opposed to 6.0" for the 7.50R16LT

so i guess you can probably mount a 8.25R16LT (34" tall)to a toyota split rim for emergency use, but it wouldnt be technically right as it should be a 6.5" rim.
