Has anyone tried making coil spring clamps for a GQ to get more travel & if so did they work successfully? What sort of design did you use?

By fixing the spring to either end of the spring seat will restrict articulation. Remember if you pull a coil spring it will re-act like a rubber band. Are your springs falling out of their saddles?
