Toyota axles - Different question!

Has someone installed toyota land cruiser axles under a series vehicle?
I mean the complete axle assembly, not the third member with custom axle shafts!
I have seen a couple of Land Rovers in the Malaysia Rainforest Challenge with 6 bolt wheels, so I am guessing they are toyota axles. Any info is welcome.
