Not that I would normally recomend it but have just had to help some one with the opposite problem. Paint them. Daughters friend just painted his mirrors and then complained that they are a bitch to adjust.

Maybe that extra layer of paint will be enough for the two pieces to grip eachother when exposed to those blistering highway speeds.

Just tighten the bolt that holds the mirror to the base.

What type of mirrors are they? I had some mirrors on a bent steel stalk with a little ball on the end. These were hopless, then got some bigger units off a later zook and they are fine up too a whopping 110 kph (not mph)

I think nicbeer is right. I went to a wrecker last time I was in sydney and I didn't see him pilfer the new ones. They were $35 ea but worth it. Fit in the same holes :)
