I have been inspired by Tuffsierra and others to maybe do a camo paintjob. Anyone got any side on or front on snaps of their camo rigs. Need to know paints used and any prep tips please.

you might be better off looking at actual army 4x4's from around the world - they all have different patterns and styles =)
i reckon doing it up to look like an old jap world war style zuk would be mental myself =) with the red star on the doors n all!

Here is mine. I got the paterns off the net. I did it in 2 pack, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. It took me several weekends to do, and atleast 12 rolls of masking tape, and 6 months worth of weekend australians

I asked.
It was in Almeria. Between the Sierra de Baza and El Peñon del Negro.
Other highlights of that trip were:
-Altitude 1900 mts.
-Min. Temp –10ºC
-More than 20 hours driving
- 5 Hours to go back a distance of 15 Km-
- The Zebra had to be left behind there for 17 DAYS!!!! The level of the snow over the actual terrain was over 1.5mts. The zebra was caught in a soft snow pile and it got stuck. They had to wait until the snow melted and they went back to retrieve it with a truck
More pics and the info (in spanish) can be seen at:

Thanks to Zebra and all the guys of 4x4xAlmeria.

They tried to retrieve it twice with no luck. The most amazing thing is when they finally reached and after checking fluids, it stated at the first turn of the key
I bet these guys have some stories to tell to their grandchildren.

harlequin paint... you know... the stuff that goes from orange to purple or green to black etc??? =) its much cheaper now than it was a few years ago!

I saw one around Brighton Le sands the other day. But zook is too square shaped and the harlequin doesn't look great. This one had low profile tyres and one of those ricer gauges on the dash.

I've seen those flairs on alot of the US rigs. What are they? What about bringing back the 70s/80s Sandman panelvan theme? I'm thinking half nekked chick warrier tied to a stake being attacked by tigers while wielding a battleax....Worked then!

Heheheheheee,
strip it back to bare metal, buff the hell out of it then paint it clear!!!!
If you can get the clear coat to stick it wouldn't look half bad.
