might be depending on where the 4" springs actually sit, 4" is 100mm and i think tires will give between 35-50mm lift

not meaning to sound rude but...

if you have a pencil and paper (maybe even a calculator) its fairly simple maths.
1" = 2.54cm just to get you started

as long as the tyres and springs are measure a "true" size you should be right

thats easy said but when ur new to the whole thing & im not to sure on how the tyre size works im asking so i can know stuff u get know where in life if you don't ask questions

you get no where in life if you dont SEARCH either.

always wanted to say that.

4" + 1-2" for tires = 5-6"

x2.54 gives you your answer

why is 150mm so critical?

Could be related to the new engineering rules: tyres, susp. lift and bodylift can't exceed 150mm.

By rights a 4 inch suspension lift with 35s should be around the 150mm mark when the suspension settles down a bit. The problem is 4 inch coils may sit around the 5 inch mark when new.I would be asking the engineer who is going to be engineering the 4wd all your questions before spending any money on it. ;) If possable get all your answers in writing too. After all he's the one who will be giving you the pass or fail verdict. Hope this makes sense. ;)

Cheers Mick.

thanks mick yes it helped i will be contacting an engineer with in a few months prior to getting the truck so that way if i go lift straight away i will have everything ready to go & not have sleepless nights untill i know if it legal or not

With this new Legislation, haven't they put in Tyres can have a INCREASE of diameter of no more than 50mm, which in my calculations allows us to only run 33's or 305/70/16 legally on a GQ or GU.

I'm pretty sure they have capped the tyres to 50mm, I sure hope I read it the wrong way :?

Then get it engineered and sorted before the new rules come in.
