Hey has anyone ever fitted these to a four door rangie????
I gotta get these things fitted to accomodate my new BFG muddies, I just not to keen on the rear door sill etc.
Anyone that knows how easy/hard the job is please let me know as I am intending on purchasing in the next week or two.
cool I think you have sold me (good sales skills will always get you far )
No i just gotta make sure i can get the cash What was the minimum amount you had to cut from the guard? Were there instructions or a cardboard cutting sheet to go buy????
When I did mine ~2 years ago RS supplied a full and detailed instruction leaflet with the flares.
I agree with Micheal, fronts are easy, just dont fit them too high. Rears take patience and a little finesse/skill on the 4 doors. If youre trimming the flare to fit the profile of the door be careful not to thin out the depression where the screws come through.
Borrow or hire an air nibbler. Makes it an easy, distortion free cutting job. Put some time into treating the bare edges and sealing the flare to the rear door on the inside. (sikaflex is your friend here)
I would recommend leaving them in gel coat and NOT painting them because the gel coat is nice and tough whereas painting scratches easily and looks crappy after a while.
I received instruction sheets with mine. Trimming the rear doors is the worst part. I also had to panel beat (as in hammer) the door (not the outer skin on one side to get the flare to fit up reasonably.
But there's no other acceptable alternative that I know of.
