a LOT can be said for the tyres ur running, whether you have back seats in, accessories (even speakers)...
i reckon mine would be close to 1100-1200 now with all the welds and tyres, new springs etc...

My tyre/rim combo is 36kg each and I carry a fullsize spare so 5 x 36 = 180kg.

Our club ran a weigh day, last year or so, with a trip tacked on too.
Mine was 1180, with 60 litres of fuel, all spares, 10 litre jerry and 110kg of me. Guess I've done a fair bit of cutting and weight reduction
Tare and gvm are on the plate fixed to firewall, mostly.

dear ronoor i dont fu**en weigh that much pr**k..................................... no the reason why I bought this up is the front leafs have been bent OME with 2" lift so I was wondering why the problem as I have only gone on granny trips with the zook. I thinkin the weight issue and no manual or site really gives it
I will say this again the guys on this site a really great and thank you to the regulars like (no specfic order) alien Bad JuJuredzook nicbeer chunks christover1 germo for the great ideas info etc. The invites is always open if you down Geelong Vic way and me mate Paul (you know who you are) and ronoor will show some interesting tracks this way

Apart from weight, and/or jumping and landing hard.
The usual cause of bent springs is the torque twisting effect of acceleration, especially if twisted up on rocks etc.
This is exaggerated with any increase in leverage, ie spring lifts and spoa. Is also more of a problem with softer springs, or modified springs, ie leaves removed.
Your set up should not cause bent springs, in my opinion.
I have used heavy duty OME springs on the drivers side and standard on the other. Not only my weight, but also that of the spare tyre and fuel is on this side. Also THE TORQUE TWIST OF THE DRIVELINE PUTS MORE STRESS ON THE RIGHT REAR. Bloody caps lock
Maybe your set up needs a torque rod, anti wrap bar fitted?

christover1 you may be right about the torque twist.. And yes I am 104.7kilos plus tire plus fuel to the side. I only taken zook for a couple of rides on bumpy roads even a normal car can handle... I have done nothing that would no other vehicle would do I will check with my OME suspention guy and see whats up.. The shocks and leafs to rear are all ok when I get the chance I will post pics. She still drives ok and handles ok The suspension is very hard but on road she's not bad.. just a little dissappointed about the leafs goin flat so quick.. Thanks for the input...when I get some more experince points up and if you guys know some tracks your way I'd luv to see your neck of the woods.....(thats if I'm invited) I think you do the Wandin area?
Used have Grandparents living in Montrose and did a bit of horse riding Wonga Park.. There must be some ripper tracks your way.....???

WE'd also like to do a trip or two down your way.
We are from a wide area, and do trips wherever a member wants to lead one.
We do have easy/beginner/newbie type trips, in fact there is one this weekend.
Yes, I live in Croydon, our closest forest is Toolangi, some of the best wheeling in Vic. Only takes me 20 minutes to get there. But I am not far from the Warburton area as well.
I'm 110kg and in 10 years with the OME have only ever bent the right rear, thats when I put the HD on that side, mainly to level it up, but now it handles better and climbs better, too.
OME is rarely stiff, maybe you do have a fault up front?

when you say bent, what do you actually mean. Have they got a kink in the spings (usually from hitting an obstacle and something has to give inthis case a spring), have they flattened out or what.
Also have you checked that all of the mounts are tight, nothing else loose. Have you put the right springs on ie you haven't accidently put rear springs on the front or a different vehicles springs.
I have had OME springs for over 11 years now and have managed to bend one spring in that time by hittin a ledge with a little too much right foot. Other than that they have stood up to a lot of abuse. I'm, shall we say, not a small bloke and have a bullbar, dual batteries, exo cage and a heavyish tray and all that combined weight hasn't effected the springs. In fact I only ran a softened leaf pack for many years, by taking the secondary leaf out

Hmm maybe I will pics some photos for you to have a look see...Ihave been flat out at work so I have not had a chance to talk or show our local installer the leaf springs as yet... The leaves or leafs are kinda warped not to the extreme and I know the OME leafs are flat in the middle but when you see the photos you will get an idea...
Oh Love to go to Toolangi for a drive but go easy on any wild stuff as I shi#
my self when on Christmas Eve (yes xmas eve) I was with my mates doing the master f***ker track redwater track in the otways:shock: the creek was flowing it was raining (its a rainforest) and the bogs were 50mtrs in one spot and after 4hrs the 10 k track was finally over (I had neeed to change my jocks)
some parts of the track were not visible as in the undergrowth had grown across the track(My mate was driving blind) Any way I am avail............ cheers:scatter:

the springs look ok to me?
Are you talking about the sway bar being bent??
that could cause stiffness and lack of travel.

the pics dont do it justice but they kinda bent ... And what about the sway bar? Wont handling be a problem?
So christover1 you are saying the leafs are ok .... and what will the sway bar do if removed? you know what I mean.... and will on road handling be a little more dicey

OME shocks are load sensitive, as you drive harder, they stiffen up.
On road handling will change, but I took my swaybar off 9 years ago, and its fine to me.
Try it, if you hate it, easy to put back on.
