do it all at once. throw the springs and shackles in, max out the suspension, measure the distance between shock mounts open and closed, front and back, and go shock shopping

depending on how much length you've got in your existing shocks, they might be maxed out t ride height (mine where when i lifted it) which leads to busted shocks and really really wierd handling. if they won't be, the only damage will be if you max out your shocks too much.
have you taken into account castor adjustment due to the longer shackle?
why not drive it without the extended shackles till ya have the $$$ for shocks?

I couldn't find a decent shock long enough to cope with too greater extended shackle in a 60 series listing. I didn't try rancho though. However bilsteins are an easy fit and you can get 'em as long as you want.
Also before you go buying some 37's for ya 60, you'll gunna have to do some serious mods to fit them on without fouling on every gawd dammed thing under the car!. IE. Front: springs on lock (big time) Front of wheel arch on flex. Top of wheel arch if you go wider than 11.50.
Rear; Inner wheel arch on articulation. Top of wheel arch on compression. body mount at rear of wheel arch on flex/compression.
Good luck.

I have a 2" LIFT plus a 1" lift via shackles. I'm still running the Enforcer shocks that came with the spring lift. No problems, but not ideal off road.
