Does any one Know if the front alloy diff housing of the 94 vit can be replaced with the diff of a grand vitara (cast iron) And if the ratios are the same?

Yes, it will fit but you are most likely running 5.125 unless it's a 3speed auto then you have 4.625 and the GV V6 manual uses a 4.30. Yours probably also has 22 spline sidegears where as the later ones have 26 spline sidegears and a bigger inner axle shaft and drivers side inner CV shaft. Of course this would be an opportunity to upgrade to the larger 26 spline if you feel that way inclined. You don't really want the internals anyway because they have shift on the fly system which you don't really want to be bothered with. Just use the outer case and put your inners in there. Be aware that the XL-7 has a different mount on the rear cross member so if you use that one then you'll need to do a little fabbing.

Sounds ok ! I wanted to fit a locker in the front but was thinking it would be better to install it in a cast iron housing for a bit more strength So it should be ok if I use the grand vit housing with modified brackets together with the 94 man vit centre and install a locker in that ?
Thanks Fellas

The GV housing bolts straight in, it's only the XL-7 housing that needs the rear mount modifying.
