Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I am needing to mod my sump so I can get more clearence for the highsteer, and preferrably before we go away at Easter..

How much does it need? Could you use a BFH hitting a lump of wood against the sump?

If it's aluminium alloy, you might need to get a new one made in steel, or find someone with a gased mig or tig welder.
