I'm led to believe that there are some running around. Andrew Stark (?) was running them in XRCC in his GQ coil cab.
4x4 Engineering is the distributor for corefields. Call Richard on 07 3344 1181.

Maybe a few people should give them a go. They aren't cheap but I think they are a good product (I have no experience with them though so yeah). CORE products just have to tried and tested.

Im not positive if these were all CORE CVs but Starky broke 3 at round 0 XRCC and 2 at round 1.

Steve a bloke scott and i know who has a GQ, broke his CoreField on his first run at ASCC 2 2003, turned out that he was using late GQ cvs with early axles,, which caused the cv to brake apart, he has fixed this and apprently no more problems
the core's are definatly stronger than stock, there was a few times at QRock i was expecting richards front end to go bang

I spoke to Starky at round one after he broke a drivers side cv. He said that they were still in the testing stage and he was running a standard inner race in the drivers side and a strengthened one on the passengers to try and get a comparison. Don't know how much r and d has been put in in the mean time.

excuse my ignorance on this subject ....but has any-one ever made a CV that could replace the universals on driveshafts??? Seems like CV's would be a better unit to run instead of a uni especially on short wheel based highlifted rigs where the unis are working at their max !...just asking.

Glen Dobbin runs a 100 Series CV joint on his driveshaft doesn't he?

i spoke to brett last week about his GQ corefields and he said they now have the heat treatment right and are working on axles as they break now.
They are still working on the GU CV's, will have more of a chat when i go out to pick up my wheel.
While i was there i spied TJ pete welding some tube [bracing or mounts ? ] to the top of his rear diff housing, his front housing was there as well.

Thanks Moose,
I did a highlift (SOD)back around xmas time and have been a little concerned about the unis since then. I also rotated both front and rear diffs ( knuckle twist on the front )to relive some of the angle pressure, so far they seem to be holding up but I would rather fix the potential problem before it becomes a major disaster in the middle of nowhere !
I was at the local Bearing specialists today and the gave me the following addess to an Austrailian manafacturer.
Austrailian CV Joint Centre
36 Mc Intosh St.,
Airport West
03 9338 9455
Has anybody else heard of this company? I havent spoken to them as yet but will advise you of what they had to say.

Is Carlton on here by any other name. He had the cardan stuff sorted on his GQ. Think he turfed them for some reason and had done a fair bit of in field testing with a good solution to the problem of drive line angle on SWB GQ's.
