I love my Feroza don't get me wrong but in the last few months I have spent nearly the same amount on it in repairs than I did on buying it in the first place.

The following things have been repaired or replaced in the last 2 years:

New clutch, starter motor, battery, clutch fork, oxy sensor, timing belt, water pump, front wheel bearings, tie rods * 4, rear brakes.

And then in the last 3 weeks a New Engine and Radiator.

I don't drive her particularly hard, mainly as a city driver but when it does go off road it goes off road hard.

WHAT ELSE IS GONNA GO WRONG??????

P.S. If anyone wants to buy a feroza make me an offer as sooner or later its gonna be all new parts and nothing will break........yeah right.

At least you've got most of the mechanicals replaced now! :)

So what did you end up doing for the engine? Jap import or rebuild?

Same with me andmy rocky, spent atleast 4000 in the last year (paid 2K for it when i bought it).... i think its similar with any old car, and when you combine the age with the fact that its a 4x4 it just gets worse... but mine as been good lately, hope it stays that way

I needed to replace it straight away and had to be able to drive it straight after so I had a 2nd had engine dropped in. It had done 80,000km and was a fair bit cheaper than a reco. All up it cost $1900, I don't really know if that is a good price or not but it is running now so thats a good start.

.
The cylinder head will need work due to pinging, followed by the bottom end.
Then after you fix those, the gear box will go.
And maybe also the rear diff will develope a harsh back lash and start leaking from the pinion seal. :x

Feroza is not the car for HARD offroad. You can drive it on soft offroad for a years and it will eorks without problems.
My has 282000km and second clutch. Water pump is the third and new machine oil 10W40 shell every 7500km. I newer do hard offroad with it, but every day i drive it on bad tarmac aprox. 60km to my job and back.

I am going to cry!

I have had this Stupid car for 6 months now - got the head redone, new filters and all that guff, $1200.

Started dying, got a new Dizzy, worked great - for 2 weeks.

Started stalling yesterday - only got home by left foot braking in neutral (cause no foot for clutch), or hell-toeing in true race car fashion to keep the revs up - now the @#$#@ won't start. It is three doors down from my place - I can make it fire by running the starter with no ignition (I have a starter button) for 5 secs than switching ignition on - and it lasts a total of 2 seconds and dies, throttle or no!

@!$#@# Car!

Problem is too, most panels dented or have rust repair and stuff, so cosmetically it is not pretty, so worth nothing now! Nothing at all! 2@#$#@ Car!

I am going to check out the fuel system on the weekend, strip off the new dizzy, redo timing, and strip out the intake system and see if something is blocked - it is sure a pain in the #@$@#$#@#$$@#$@#$@#$@#

I so wish I had gotten that boring old car, and not gone for the fourby!

I had similar problems with my feroza. Problem was in fuel tank and fuel hoses - hose in tank was broken on the top of the tank and leaking air, so there is not enough gasoline.
Try with one bottle and 2 hoses. Disconect fuel hoses from fuel pump, put these new ones on and other ends to bottle. Then fill the bottle with gasoline and try to start an engine.
