Hi Everyone

Its time for me to get some new tyres in a couple of weeks

I currently run BFG AT's in 32x11.5x15's and would like something a little more aggressive

Further info
I use my 4x4 for hunting and going bush and mostly come across rocky trails and the like

I dont drive on sand at all really,

I travel around 15,000 kms a year

What do you guys recommend ?

Cheers

Heath

the sumitimos are a pretty good budget tyre, the BFG muds, MTRs and Mudzillars are all good choices, go down to the tyre place and find a tread pattern you like as the tyre debate makes the ford/holden one look small

I've had MT/Rs and now the new STTs. I don't think there's a lot of difference between them (with what I do) but the tyre place reckons the STTs balance better.

Cheers,

Scott

Go the BFG muds or the MAXXIS buckshot for a cheaper option MTR's are good while they last (that was for the guys that run em lol)

I had old school BFG MT's which I would buy tomorrow if I could, then MTR's, which I wanted again, but while on Drugs got a set of new BFG MT's (right price couldnt get mtrs at time :bad-words: ) and I wish I would have waited for MTR's again.. it was only going to be 1-2 mths :(

New BFG handle like shit on the road specially round abouts, they slide and roll on the tread blocks, could be the speed Im tryin to negotiate the round about at too... but did same speeds on MTR's.

YMMV

which badboys?
NAM? Tonka0? Wendle? Bubs?
The Ruff Badboy version in a 32 is very hard to get, but will get over most things.

I would choose the BFG Muddie, damn good tyre. Because if it starts to rain while your out at least you will know you will have a better chance of getting out.
I have these tyres on my Pathfinder, if your on a budget I would look at the Maxxis Buckshot Muddies.

YMMV

In an emergency situation his vehicle isn't as controllable - could mean the difference between brown stains and red.

Perhaps you could warn him in advance before the next hat driver decides not to give way?

x6 for MTRs

I had BFG's previously and they are terrible onroad, especially in the wet. THey slip and slide all over the place. The MTRs are much hard to lose traction.

Off road on dry rock/hill climbs they excel. However, i don't like my MTRs in the mud. They're CRAP.

MTR x 7

As above no good in mud, they don't self clear very well.
