ok first question are alternator pully's interchangeable ie i have a holden engine and alternater as well as a patrol 24V alternator can i swap the pully's around

i ask cause the patrol pully is a double and the holden is single

if i can get them to swap then can i have the holden alternator driving the patrol 24v alternator
so the engine drives the holden alternator then with another belt the holden one drives the patrol alt?

The pulleys can usually be swapped as they normally have a standard shaft size. A rattle gun is the best way to get the nut off.

The one-driving-the-other setup could work if you can make up suitable brackets that allow you to tension the first alternator belt first, then the second. But if you are going to that much effort, it would be better and only a bit more fiddly to drive them both from the engine independently. I think you'd be less likely to have slippage this way, as the big pulley on the motor has more contact surface with the belt.

I wouldn't do it.
When the load kicks in on the 24v , it will be putting extra load on the first pully belt and could cause it to jump off or brake. Better to add a pully to the crank. This can be simply bolted to the main pully with say 3-4 small bolts.
