NJ GLS Tyre Placard

Post by little red »

Does anyone know off hand what size tyres are listed on the Tyre Placard of a GLS NJ pajero? Also, what size tyres did the GLS come out with. I just bought a stock NJ GLX, and to my disgust, it does not list a range of tyres sizes, but only lists the one tyre (235x75x15) on a 6 inch rim. I was tyring to keep my upgrade of tyres close to legal (ie 15mm larger then listed on the placard), which made me curious what size the GLS has, as I am sure it comes out stock with larger tyres then the GLX

(note I said larger, not large)
:)

Thanks

265/70-15 is the stock size for NJ GLS. :D

Most people go straight to 31x10.5 (basically 265/75-15.) Technically too large, has a higher load rating than the 235/75-15. On the GLS it makes the speedo MORE accurate, but the GLX might have a different drive gear (not that it's hard to change.)

Thanks Scott. I am guessing that the 265's will not fit on the stock 6 inch rim. Do you know what rims I will need to get, as I have heard that the NJ's have a rare offset.

15x7 inch rims. Gen 2 Pajeros have a +10mm offset, Patrols are zero and 'Cruisers -23mm. This is what I've been told - others will quote other figures. :D Gen 3 Pajeros have a huge offset - don't use them on your NJ.

If you can't get genuine Mitsubishi 15x7 alloys from a wrecker try for something from a Patrol. Or you should be able to get new 15" Sunraysia style rims for $60 to $70 each.

Cheers,

Scott
