body lift

How much time involved in doing a 2" body lift. Plan on getting nylon rod and my mate will do the spacers on a lathe. What dia rod is needed?and also what size holes in rod. Do spacers go on top of rubber mounts? and does every mount need to be lifted. Is it just a case of undoing all the nuts and jacking up to get spacer in? Sorry for so many questions but it`s snowing and -3 deg. here and a bit cold to go under and suss it all out.

whats better to get... nylon, mild steel or al?

Whaterver I spose.. I have Nylon in mine and so do alot of guys in the melbourne area, cuase of who supplies the blocks. Havent had any problems that I know off..
I wouldnt go steel it could start up rust into yur body.. and i dont like the idea of rubber with crush tubes.
I think Nylon works best.

id go with 65mm-75mm round alloy 2inch body lift

To get it engineered or to be legal you need steel/metal.
Nylon wears easier than metal.

No problem guys . Link says it all. Bogged we dont have engineering here in Scotland. If there are any probs at garage I just lift up the mechanics kilt and give him a quick one. Then tell him I`ll see him at the start of the haggis shooting. Do you think the nylon would wear out ? Could do alloy ones and use rubber film to break bond against steel.

yes the nylon will wear, and after time it will get frail and start to brack away
most 4x4 place here use and only sell the alloy due to engineering side of things as bogged said
alloy with rubber film is the way to go
