Hi all,
the other night i replaced the air filter in my v6 nf and put 20L of fuel as it was just about empty. the next day i went to work go to the end of my road the it cut out. started it again and it was coughing and spluttering and would die when i gave it some throttle. still running really rough won't idle steady and can't use more than 1/4 throttle after two days. i have put some metho in it to try and absorb water. is there anything else i can do or look out for? can i bleed the fuel lines or something?

How do you know that you have water in the fuel? Was it mixed with the 20 ltrs of fuel you put in? If you think you have water in the tank, drain it! Then turn vehicle ignition over to quickly blead the fuel/water in the lines. Then put 20 litres of fresh fuel in, you will have to turn it over a few times to get the fresh fuel through the lines.

Check to make sure that the airflow meter electrical plug is fitted correctly. I changed my filter once and forgot to plug it back in and boy did I know the difference.

took the air filter apart and found the reciept in there - it was blocking the sensor - good one!
drained the tank and replace the fuel fiter as well.
running sweet.

 That's the first time I've heard of that!

At least it was a simple fix. :D

 classic, sounds like one of those minties moments. good thing it wasn't too serious in the end, a good one to laugh about over a few cold ones.
