Reliable power!

With all this talk on,fuel pumps and comp rebuilds.
I am after a few idea's,preferable first hand on
What would be a good compromise on Turbo'd TD42 Eng.
As in touring/drive it everyday/play with mate's.
What is peoples idea's
what boost
what fuel mod's
ect ect ect.

7-8psi is considered "safe" non-intercooled boost
10-12psi is considered "safe" intercooled boost
Fuel is relatively easy - lots of blokes just wind the fuel adjustment up, but it's better to have the pump set up properly and get the advance checked, up the delivery pressure then reinstall the pump with 1-2deg more advance than it originally was. Upping the poppet release pressure in the injectors isn't a bad idea either.
Pump adjustment only should set you back $250 ...
If you do it yourself, its a good (read: essential) idea to have an EGT gauge (550C post turbo maximum under sustained full load).
Turbochargers are many and varied ... each is slightly better suited to a particular task than another - i.e. some are slightly better for towing, others slightly better at low-end boost.
