Need Help…..

I was driving my other half Nissan patrol 4.2LD with 7inch lift and 33 tyres two nights ago when I was having problems getting the bloody thing in gear, I had her in neutral and rolled back a bit thinking that the synchros might not be right but to my surprise she still didn’t want to go into gear. I rolled back to the side of the road and turned her off. Then put her into gear and tried starting her up. This didn’t work cuz the battery went flat. Thanks for telling me.. Well I got a friend out to jump me and I told him about the gear problem I was having, he jumped in and the same thing. Could not get it into gear, it no joke felt like there was no clutch at all, when I put my foot on it to change gears it felt weird. So after a while of thinking what the hell to do, the guy put his foot under the clutch and lifted it and it made a slight dull knock sound and then she was sweet. This happens every now and again.

Now has anyone at all got any idea of what the problem would be?

The badge...

Tell him to stop palming it off to the 'mechanic' and fix it himself. Get him under the rig with you in the drivers seat (stationery) and depress the clutch, see if there is equivalent movement of the clutch fork. Also check linkages in the drivers footwell of the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder.

Failing that, I saw a nice GU down at the local yard...
