Tritons dead

Went out to Appin Sat night
Parked my truck at the bottom of the steps for about 1/2 hour
Came back and nothing just the starter spinning the crank feely :x
Havent fully stripped it down yet but seems the timing chain guide has broken
This cause the cank/cam timing to jump out
Phoned around wreckers and importers at work today no rwd 4g54s except the wrecker wanting $1500 and he did not know 'how good it was', exchange too?
Gem\Repco wanted 2k
So going to:
Reco head
New timing set
Re-ring
New Big ends

lots of work this weekend

I should add got just under 400k out of the old girl
Don't know exactly as I swapped bodies but the old odo was at around 375 and done about 15 with the new

If you're doing the reco anyway, hunt around for a 2l head. (4G52) I've been told it's a bolt-on swap, with a smaller combustion chamber.

If your pistons are coming out, why not see if you can find more compression again?
