dunno about the 18s, but 19s have a sweet looking goodyear wrangler MT/R which was specifically built for the rangies in the G4 challenge.

i pretty sure cooper make their allterrain - ST's and their new muds STT's in a 18inch, may be too large a profile for D3 though, don't know

Monocoque
Not entirely correct. it has a monocoque shell, but rover decided this would not be sufficient, and fitted a chassis underneath that (hence the hefty 2.7 ton kerb weight). I was under one the other day, didn't even think to look to see how it was mounted, and whether a bodylift would be possible - I don't regard them as even vaguely worthwhile for serious offroading, due to the independant suspension limitations. Although, if you modified the control arm mounts to bring them further into the centre of the vehicle, and manufactured longer control arms........

Very surprised!
The mate with the Disco 3 came away on a club trip with me on the long weekend.
We went into burgoynes gap near licola, drove everything in the dry o.k and did very well on monday in the pissing down rain, and it was on tyres i wouldnt be seen dead on!
i think on a good offroad tread it would be even better.
Guys in our club were blown away how capable it was, amoungst Nissans and Toyotas.

SSR Series
The SSR Series of Super Swamper Radial/TSL tires is the next generation of light truck radial tires. This series has many of the OEM sizes for Sport Utility Vehicles and 4 Wheel Drive light trucks who do not want to modify their vehicles but still need the performance of Super Swampers. The design incorporates a slightly tighter tread pattern, siping for wet pavement traction and icy conditions, greater sidewall protection with traction features and is quieter running.
