I went to a speedo calibration place and they sold me a pulse meter that goes between the speedo cable and transfercase.

The electric speedo sends a series of timed pulses - the interval between the pulses increases or decreases depending on your speed.

The "interceptor" box is essentially a divider or multiplier, so it changes the number of pulses that gets sent to the speedo.

For example, if the new t/case sent twice as many electrical pulses down the wires as your old case, the box would be set to divide by 2 and send only half the pulses.

Hope this helps.
