Outer Limits 4x4 Board

"after reading advice that I should burn (in the car - landy) the fuel I won't be using from ,my boat, today i dumped about 35litres of 2 stroke mixed fuel in my landy fuel tanks. (V8 defender 110)

My fuel guage is bouncing up and down since hovering between half and three quarters.

farken christ 2 stroke???? althought it carnt be good it shouldnt do much to the motor as it dosent have a too big of mixed 2 stroke oil but id run some of the lean petrols to clean it out id says:) eg shell helix, bp ultimate

Could the oil in the 2 stroke mixture be interfering with the sender unit... coz the oil will tend to stick on things, causing the sensor to be out...

Why the hell did he do this anyways??

Yep, I'd guess the oil in the two stroke is affecting the sender - it's probably a variable resistor, so any surface contamination will affect it's performance.

I'd recommend going for a drive to get as much of the "2 stroke" out as possible, then fill with straight petrol - to dilute any residual oil as much as possible.

Maybe he thought the blue smoke would eveaporate away like it does on a 2 stroke motorbike
