Whats the best head to have on a 1324cc suzuki engine. Mine is off atm and not sure if it is any good. If its stuffed what is the best head to put back on? should i stick with the 1.3 8v head or go the vit 16v head or the Gti head. Whats the best for more power but doesnt require swapping pistons etc.
Thanx

a stock one,
as i think you will run into trouble with valves hitting pistons with the other heads.

well id see the misses for that one

(best head)
now that ones out
any g series cylinder head will fit onto your block
eg any g13a - g13b etc - swift gti head - carby swift head & all sierra heads of course
and g16a - g16b head vitara carby & efi head
the g16 series would suit forced induction set up with its
larger combuston chamber dome
if you chase down the g13a carby swift head to use
you need swap over cam shafts or swap over dizzy gear at rear of cam shaft
the gti head will need dizzy adaptor kit from suziworks

are there any valve clearance issues with using a different head but leaving the pistons the same?
which one of those heads will give the best power with a straight carby setup?
I wanna just bolt a new head on the block and not have to do any internal engine work.

The stock 8v head is a non interferance design ... if a timing belt snaps you wont end up with pistons and valves getting friendler than they should.
If you want more power and a prepered to spend around 200 you can get a shop to set you up with a head using 1.3 intake valves and 1.6 exhaust valves and do some port matching on the intake and exhaust ports. Throw in a mid range regrind on your cam and thats abot it as far as power mods go ( as you already have a modded carb with the webber)
Match that with a decent exhaust and your 1.3 is about as good as it will get for the $$ spent

And it will cost about the same and still won't go as good as a stock 1.6!
the only reason I can see for going down this route is engineering, and that is fair enough, but at the end of the day this is not going to perform as well or last as long as a stock 1.6.

True, but once the 1.3 dies you can easily transfer it all to a 1.6

getting head reco'd and shaved slightly and getting a re-grind done on the cam to give more low to mid grunt. plus will put extractors on it which will help the weber work better. and like love-mud said when it does die it can all be transfered onto a 1.6

Oh and when I had this donr on mine, I only spent around $250 including the cost of new valve's as I was not in a hurry to get it done.. and paid in cash
