Thatnks for that.
My original concern was if there was a kit with tappered roller bearings, as opposed to the double ball bearing; press in unit that I have.
but after cracking open the passengers side, I found I had aftermarket roller bearing type there. This is what I want to run, so now that I know that any vitara bearing kit will fit.....

podge,
sorry mate, there are two types of bearing for the coiler. the early ones had a two piece design, similar to a sierra.
the later ones had the some as jimny, a one piece non adjustable design.
vitara's have a two piece adjustable bearing that is interchangable with the jimny's hubs.
there is a large price difference as well, last time i was quoted $250 for the jimny bearings or $180 for the vitara's.

Mooman, you're not Jason Tubner are you???
Having done Suzuki parts for long time I have never seen two diferent versions of front bearings for the coily, that includes knowing the parts microfische has the type 8/9 SJ413 Sierra (SJ80 4/96-10/98) as only having one type of bearing over the vehicle's existance. The part number given by Suzuki for the bearing in the SJ80 is the same as the Vitara (P/No. 09269-41001)

i wouldn't have know'n that there was different ones, until i went to fix the suspect wheel bearings in my jimny.
turned out that the hubs were "flogged" out and i needed new ones, my friendly wrecker had done the convertion to adjustable wheel bearings many times before. and had always used coily hubs and stubs, because they were adjustable.
however when we got the hubs off the coily, turns out that it had the one piece jimny style bearings (it's likely that they had been changed to this config)
here are the part numbers that i'm using
Jimny & coily SGP-09267-41001
Vitara SGP-09269-41001
almost the same exept one number.

dont get me wrong Jason is great. was simply refering to the fact that mooman drives a different car and therefore is not Jason.

I was being sarcastic in the first place when referring to Mooman being Jason, I wasn't for real on that one.
No stress, but as for bearings in the front of an SJ80, Jimny and Vitara I've always used the same front bearing kit. For reference, the non OE bearing P/No. is 41KWD01G3.
