Hey guys,
Im looking at lifting my 1990 Dual Cab lux (solid axle) in the near future probably 2 or 4".
What I would like to know is what will be needed if I was to choose a 2" lift and what would be needed if I went with a 4" lift. (i.e. steering drag link? steering damper? etc...)
I would also most probably be doing a 2" body lift if this makes any difference to your answers.
Thanks for your help.

I have the 91' model with 2" suspension lift didn't need anything else apart from the adjustable diff locator arm. Trust me get the arm, some people will tell you that you don't need it but mine leaned on the drivers side pretty bad without it.
Body lift is a whole new ball park. Need to move your radiator mounts if you want to still have your fan shrowed, possibly steering lengthened, hi-pinion diffs would be good and might need to extend your gear stick (also the groove pattern your gears currently follow might need to be regrooved.
Can anyone think of anything else? Just what i remembered being told when i looked at doing it.

2" should be acheivable with just a adjustable torque rod, but 4" id be ditching the torque rod, going x-over steering + ifs power steering box, rotating knuckles and d/c joints in your tailshafts

is it possible to fit 35" tyres under a 2" body and 2" suspension lifted hilux? or does it need more lift?

hey all, i now have a 94 d/c lux with 2 inch suspension,2 inch body. i havent finished it yet though.i need a new dampener for sure and brake lines are about to get pulled out when flexing. with the bodylift i just took off the bottom piece of shroud which is dodgy n im yet to fix that. the gearstick isnt right now and it pops out of 2nd n 4th if not placed into them properly so the stick needs to be bent asap, also you should buy a steering shaft extension but i just loosened mine to see if it would slip a bit but it didnt???. As for 35's my old s/c 84 lux had the same lift as my new one and the 33's rubbed on the front so either trim the guards or move your diff forward, hope this helps. You can do it at home,we always do,some axle stands, good tools, few jacks, grease,Just be careful. i dont have an adjustable torque rod, never thought bout it maybe i should???????????
