100 series rear diff centre will fit 80 series?

If so then 100 series diff centre will also fit front and rear of 75 FJ40? FJ40 is 4.11.

The 100 diff centre will fit with some gringing of the housing, the 2 reliefs to allow the crown wheel to fit through need to be made wider ( 100 crown wheel is thicker ) but does bolt in as i have done it before and if keeping the LSD the side gears need to be changed with 80 lsd side gears( they go straight in ). 80 is 30 spline 33.3mm diametre ( all toyota fine spline axles the same ) and 100 is 32 spline 35mm diametre If fitting ARB lockers you need to change the side gears to 80 locker ones and need to be bushed as the sidegear spindle diametre is 80's 45.00mm and 100's are 50.00mm.

Thanks Wally. I have a mate that wants to sell a 100 series rear diff centre with ARB locker already installed. Just wanted to know if its a straight bolt in for my front/rear in the 40. From what you say its not so easy.

Depends what ratio the fact turbo diesels are 4.1:1 the petrols and N/A diesels are 4.3:1 and the V8,s are ??????:1 and to fit side gears your looking at a few hundred $$$$$$ for new side gears and bushes to fit them.
