Hey guys,
drive a LN106 Hilux with a rear Lock Rite Installed.
Notice an odd problem where the car seems to be really twitchy on a straight road. Then it felt funny that it was so easy to wheel spin at the traffic lights.
And finally realised then the car seems to run on 1 wheel when i tried to drive up the lawn.

So what do u guys suspect is the problem? A broken axle? A broken Lock Rite? Coz it feels like the right side only recieves power.
I havent open it yet.
The funny bit is the car has not seen a single bit of offroad action when it was installed 10 years ago and probably done less than 25000km. Total mileage is 55000km.

If it's a broken lock rite what could it be?
I did a search everyone says the springs is a weak problem.

Anyway bottom line i'm from Malaysia. So is there anyone in here is a Lock Rite dealer/ specialist? At least i know where to source and order parts if necessary from Oz as my uncle is there for the Commonwealth Games.
Sigh.

prolly a broken axle or you have done the pins in the locker, ur more likely to blow the diff up with a auto locker on the hard rd, than off it, drain the diff oil and see what somes out, if nothing pull the axles and inspect then the diff if need be

You may have even done both, but i would suspect an axle first. Just rip out the side thats not driving and see if a spline still exists on the end. If not then you will need to pull the diff out anyway, which is a good time to check if who-ever installed your lock-rite set the clearance correctly, if you dont know what that means give it to a diff specialist.

Ok so get my mech to check axle and then check the diff.
Does anyone have the workshop manual for the diff so that my mech knows the torque and clearance settings? Anything else to do while it's out?
Also since the car does most mileage on road is it a good idea to run back the original lsd rear and lock rite front?

Also i would appreciate if someone could hook us up with a lockrite distributor in Melbourne. I heard there's a rebuilt kit or something. Any idea what does it consists and how much. From there i can get my uncle to pick it up while he's down there for the Games.

Just abit surprise for the diff or axle to go bust considering the car does hardly any mileage and offroad.
Cheers
