ive herd that 80series stock springs give a 2-3" lift on a range rover clasic, since im a uni student and money is not all that plentyfull would this be a good way to cheap lift, anyone know of any other springs that are cheap or could be had for free that would do the same ie patrol. im only looking for 2-3" plus a 2" body lift, apart from extend brakes and the like and shocks, would i need castor plates and ifso how much would i be looking at for them.

you can run the 80 series front spring in the front of a rangie but you have to run the spring smaller diameter end down and also have to turn you lower spring perch (on the diff end) upside down (its held on by two bolts, easy to do)

The reason for the above is cause the 80 series spring is a pigtail type and is smaller in diameter at one end, so after turning the spring perch on the diff round you manage to make the diameter perfect for the 80 series spring (just gotta wack it in smaller end down)

Never looked into the rear so not sure how the rears work on the 80series but i think it may be similar (dont quote me on that )

p.s this shoulg give you about 3" lift
p.p.s also after thinking about it 2" front 80series springs should be ok to wack in the back (using the same method) and will give you about 3-4" lift

If you can wait a 2-3 weeks you can have mine cheap. I am about to get a set of custom springs made up.
They are Pedders HD springs which give about a 2" lift on the front and 3" on rear and have not been in for very long.

If it can be done you would have to use 80series front springs in the back aswell because from memory the 80 series rear spring is larger in diameter,similar to the rear of a Defender.

I reckon its easier to find a set of rover coils and have the right springs with the right spring rates.

Ask around here i'm sure theres plenty of people with a set of coils lying around.

Oh and if you know what length and spring rate your after get a set made up,it aint as much as you might think.

I am actually looking at swapping the coils out of my current range rover tow vehicle.

They are soft and provide 2" lift, beleive they are dobinson coils (not 100% sure) also unsure on springs rates

Wat i am after is a much stiffer 2" lift springs as this vehicle will be primarily used for towing and needs to be able to handle the added weight.
If i can find sum suitable springs cheap and soon, mine will be up for grabs cheap

So if anyone wants to help out a brother i am looking at around 220-240lb front springs and 300-320lb rears thanks
