Hey all,

Put a tough dog 4 inch kit in the 80 on the weekend including; adjustable shocks, coils, adjustable parnard front and rear, steering damper, castor bushes and extended brake lines.

I know I have to install swaybar extensions on the front (or remove) and what about the rear??? do I need to mod or remove the rear swaybar.

I've also got the dreaded grinding backlash noise, and have since removed my front tailshaft and the car drives smoother than ever. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna go for a part time kit rather than the double cardon joint, anyone had any problems with the 4wd systems part time kit as these seem to be the cheapest at $500 retail supply only.????

Are the part time kits hard to install, I have a hoist n press and all the required tools? they estimate 5 hours???

Cheers Ryan

I have the 4wd systems part time kit in mine :D I put it in over a year ago and its fine. Its a pretty straight forward job to install. Ditch the rear sway bar and modify the front by extending the pins.

if ya dont extend the rear sway bar hangers it will dent ya shocks.. so jsut ditch it....

I would definatly say go for the part time as i had a d/c in mine and it was fine for 18 months till it finally buggered up then when i got it re built it lasted a week.. so i took it bac and it lasted another week.. and so on.. just a waste of time now.. s go the part time and be done with it...

Cheers RV and Cranky,

I'll pull the rear sway bar off tonight and make some drop brackets for the front.

I'll send off my order for a part time kit today, put it in next weekend depending if it will get here in time...
