Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I am considering building a GQ shorty for comps,
Ive seen a few around with the wheelbase extended to around 100 inches + and would like to do this to the one I have planned.
I want to have fitted an A-bar rear and also move the guards and wheel arches back to suit.

Would anybody who has had this done have an idea what it would cost to get somebody to do it, I know Cheezy has done a few,

Would it be better to shorten a LBW chassis?

Sandy at AUS4WD has just done 2 recently.
And it's easier to use a shorty to get 100" than a LWB.

its alot harder to shorten a LWB chassis it all has to do with the curves of the chassis, i will be doing my shorty soon, i have all the bits required, but i have to finish my ute chop first

there is some pics in here i too have done an a frame my wheelbase is about 110 inch if you want around 100 inch i reacon you could get away with no chassis mods

I am in the process of doing extending mine to 104" in a similar way to bartso has, As mine is now a ute it makes it a bit easier , i have had longer bottom trailing arms and a pivoit made up for the aframe. Going to 104" i had to cut all the mounts and will be rewelding them in the right location you may not have to if you just ao 100".

Bartso i notice you moved your bottom trailing arms inside the chassis rails, why did you do this?

AUS4wd and Cass Jones (Climax Industries) are probably the best people to use there work is second to none.

AUS4wd have just finished doing two as we speak another on the go cass jones has done rohan canavans super charged 8.

There is quite a bit of work involved espacially with the cut out of the rear panel and putting another piece from a door so that your rear guard doesnt look massive then with all that work there is welding it back in and bog and making it look good again then paint so it does add up quite quickly.
