NA transfer case popping out of gear

Hey there,
Yesterday, I was 4WDing in my NA Pajero TD near the Yarra Ranges just out of Melbourne. I did a few steep descents, and for the first time ever, my transfer case (whilst in low first) poped out of gear from low range to neutral! Has anybody experienced this problem? What do I have to do about it? I would apprieciate any feedback because this has never happenned to any of my 4WD's ever, and I am a bit confused about what to do.

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam

Where is the transfer lever when you're in low range? (In the Super Select, low range is all the way forward - is yours the same?)

If so, could it be the transfer lever is hitting something, and not fully engaging? After my bodylift my lever comes very close to the edge of the cutout in the floor.

Alternatively, how are your engine/trans mounts? If they're a little weak, could the whole lot be moving forward on descent, and then knocking the lever out?

Good luck,

Scott

Obvious question - you didn't recently do a body lift did you?
