but how much will they hold?
Will I be able to stand on it without getting any front brakes?

I just had an iead
What about having electric trailer brakes on the rear and having a button that goes from max setting to normal driving. This way I would only have to touch the brakes and they will lock up.
Would this work?

Should be able to. Google it to find out. But if your after locking the rears only you can just pull on the old trusty handbrake unless its got a trans brake.
Trailer brakes would be PITA to setup and would cost a few pennies compared toa line locker kit.

they have some cool stuff. How does it work? do I put it on the front brakes and cut the fluid off or back breakes and trap the fluid in?

never played with one before, but i think they hold the fluid back from the whichever end ya want to spin (front in a 4wd, rear in a streetcar)
ordered recently from polyperformance, had the stuff within 3 weeks. did another order last night

IMO theres only one way to do it -
CNC lever brakes (or similar).
What you need to realise is that 90% of the time you don't need (want) to fully lock the rear brakes. I have found that you can achieve much more by been able to apply more or less as i am digging around.
About $280.00 or so from Racer Imports ready to go, they work simple as that.

Yes they are fine to be used, but the brake is either fully on or fully off. You can "pulse" the button manually which does a similar thing to say applying half pressure. This is OK but IMO not as good as control with a lever.
Sam has toyed with a few ideas but it get very complicated and time consuming.

Subaru front calipers have a very nice and effective cable operated handbrake if you fitted them to the rear diff as long as you weren't going to use them as an "official" handbrake. You could run individual cables to each side running to side-by-side actuators (for single brake deployment), with a bar/lever under both for "combined" actuation.
If you want/need to keep it legal and roadworthy, retain a driveshaft operated drum.
