transmissions??

ive got a mq with a p40 motor with 4 speed gears, im taken the motor out to rebuild and was thinkin bout puttin in a 5 speed, now does anyone know if its the same as the L28 5 speed or different, and if they are just a simple bolt on job/ or tail shafts need to be shorten or if cross member lines up ??? any info at all would be great!!
