TD42 Gearbox Noise

I've just got my gearbox back from the reconditioners today and there still is a slight bearing sounding noise still coming from it. When I push in the clutch this noise disapears. When it was in the shop they put a new bearing kit through the box. I suspected this noise was the input shaft bearing, and it was pretty tired when they stripped it out. The noise is not as bad as before but still noticible. They reckon its the anti-rattle plate. There were none available in town to replace it with, and they thought is was allright. It is mentioned on the invoice about the slight noise and that they suspect it is the anti-rattle plate. Does anyone agree with what the gearbox reconditioners have diagnosed as the source of the noise or is there anything else that could be causing this problem?

Cheers

I asked the gearbox reconditoners what the shaft wear was like and they reckon it was fine, the only problem was a shagged inputshaft bearing.

i guess what they call the anti-rattle plate is the sub gear witch has a cone type washer spring but would have though they could have shimed it if not enough spring load the manule says ajustment is though diffrent thinkness snap rings max clearance is 0-0.15 mm . i would say no one checked it . they found fulty bearing and stoped looking :bad-words:
