Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I was reading an article on using double transfer cases with only the back transfer case having a stick, I assume I was reading it correctly.

I cant see how this would work/ make any difference.
First tranfer box is permanently in ............... I will assume 2H as it has no stick, 2nd box just works as per usual.

I understand 2 gearboxes with their own shifters, but I cant understand 2 tranfer boxes with only one shifter unless it is linked.
So how the hell does it make any difference having the 1st box

Im guesing it would be in low all the time

i think there are lubrication probs??? because the angles they have to be on to clear each other

The problem I can see is that the rear output is offset.
The power would come out of the engine centred, out of the gearbox centred and out of the first transfercase offset, and out of the second transfer case super offset, so you would have an extreme wigity wack angle on the second jack shaft or offset the second transfer case (not practical), and it would be super long and waaaay ugly (IMHO).
