Safety Warning Horn no work check rag joint.
Been putting up with no horn for a while.
Finaly get around to fix it.
I pulled steering wheel and column to bits, to try to see why it wasn't earthing.
After scratching head fer a while, ding, remembered the small metal straps in the steering rag joint, which are the way the column earths.
Didn't really know what they were before.
They had cracked and bits fallen off.
Wasn't obvious until I pulled it apart, but the rag joint was badly worn and cracked, therefore stressing out the little straps.
It was fine when I fitted the power steer, so p/s may wear them out faster :?:
I now know something I didn't before today :D

Normally the 1.0 litre type horns do only work in some places, as the mechanism inside the horn button/steering column gets dirty and/or rusty.
This is what I was expecting, and why I started at the wheel.
Try sanding all the contact surfaces, and/or bending up the positive springy bit.
