surely there not heavy, if they are im stronger than i thought, i picked one up once and im sure i couldnt lift 220kg, sure i struggled to lift it off the ground, but i would of guessed about 120-140kgs, maybe i just ODed on weet bix that dayDAMKIA wrote:around 220kg front and 180kg rear

The weights were what I was told, I haven't actually weighed them. I could be out 20-30 kg each end, but I doubt whether it would be much more than that. FWIW I measured how much my suspension dropped with both of them in the back (curiousity only, after geting the mofos into the back if the Kia), it was about 1.9" with 225lb/inch springs in the rear, makes a best guess estimate of ~400 kg for the two (about what I was told). The rest was an eyeball split of the weight difference between the two.MADZUKI wrote:tuf045 wrote:mate just wondering if you have wieghed them?DAMKIA wrote:around 220kg front and 180kg rear
i think kia has gone to his brain...

mate personally i think that you are right with the weights!
By all means if you have the facilities to accurately weigh them individually please do and I'll pull my head in.............
mate have tryed that and they easily max out 120kg bathroom scales and before you ask yes i was weighing one at a time.jeep97tj wrote:I’m not 100% sure, but I think they weigh more than a duck![]()
surely some one has a set of spare diffs and some bathroom scales?

nice, but if the diffs are around 200kg's the scales should only get close to going twice round, so it would be a fir indication, unless he is using digital scales, that go out on errorDAMKIA wrote:about 15rpmozy1 wrote:surely to give yourself a rough idea, you could see how many times and how far the batheroom scales go round to give you a rough weight,
Did u try getting off the scales your self?tuf045 wrote:mate have tryed that and they easily max out 120kg bathroom scales and before you ask yes i was weighing one at a time.jeep97tj wrote:I’m not 100% sure, but I think they weigh more than a duck![]()

striped a gu rear (big one) and weighed it all in peices and it came in at 145kg including brakes.jeep97tj wrote:Did u try getting off the scales your self?tuf045 wrote:mate have tryed that and they easily max out 120kg bathroom scales and before you ask yes i was weighing one at a time.jeep97tj wrote:I’m not 100% sure, but I think they weigh more than a duck![]()

I ended up having to come back, when the guy I bought them from could organise an engine hoist..............RoeDao wrote:i lifted a couple of GQ diffs onto a trailer with another guy...... took 3 of us to lift the front diff..... 2 of us managed the rear one..... heavy bastards!!

We managed to drag them along the floor though

Huh - mine on the pallet with both torque tubes, 2x spare knuckles, 2X spare portal boxes and steering linkages was 795kg.......and I have the danged invoices ta prove it :(.Wendle wrote:something doesn't sound right here..
a pait of unimog 404 axles with all the torque tube stuff included on a pallet weighs in at 500kg...
i can't see the nissan stuff being anywhere near that..
LOL had all sorts of fun getting them off the back of my ute by myself - ended up just using the engine crane & it worked a treat - except it kept sinking into my cobbled driveway so it was baby-stepsjeep97tj wrote:Used a bobcat to lift the mogs off the trailer, 2 of us tried to lift them off the trailer, but when we felt our insides trying to shoot out our ass....
