Me thinks Wendle's on to something. Shotblasting the inside of your tyre improves grip!

How so ? Dose it soften the inner carcas letting the tyre flex more.
I was thinking he may have been after the beads to put in his tyres for weight, instead of water .

Yep. Adrian is looking to take the thickness oof the tyre down to about 3 micrometres. That way, they will just mould to the shape of the rocks.
Its the latest thing in Europe.

POS, my neighbour used a place at woodridge a while back, and was happy with the results. He got bead blasting done, but they may do shot blasting.
I think this was the place:

Its a bit like sandblasting but it uses metal or glass balls and eats away at the
stuff to be blasted....Correct me if im wrong though.

I too am curious what needs shot blasting... It's bloody aggressive, can chew out heaps of the base material if it's not done carefully.

Bead blasting or shot blasting use either glass beads or steel shot. They can be used from everything from removing paint from metal parts to peening metal components ("shot peening") to remove stresses.
e.g. most conrods are shot peened to remove stress concentration and prevent failure.
