MQ gearbox mounts

Post by Heathx4 »

In the removal of my L28 and 4 speed, the passenger side gearbox (actually transfer case) rubber mount feel apart. Not sure if it was already stuffed, or was damaged when removing the engine - I neglected to put a brick under the gearbox, so it twisted the mounts a fair bit when the engine came out.

Anyway, the mount is fine except the top plate has peeled off the rubber block. I don't suppose this is repairable? Some sort of kick arse glue/heat treatment? Non-genuine replacements are $110 each

The otherside looks okay. Bit of wear visible right where the other one came apart. Should I do them both? Really don't want to spend >$200 on gearbox mounts!

Other option is to steal the ones out of the donor vehicle. It was a diesel 4 speed, and now the exhaust makes it rather difficult to get at the mounts (or even to look at them!). But the exhaust most likely will come out soon anyway, so will these mounts fit?
