Heya guys,

look i have a 1985 nc pajero and i have some questions for you within regards to tyres and lifting.

1. What tyre height / width is the maximum that can be put on a standard ride height nc pajero? i currently have dessert duelers on there which are 9r15lt in size and im unsure what that is.

2. I understand this model is leaf springs and not coil. if so what springs or options do i have for raising the vehicle before putting a lift kit on?

3. Is the redarc battery solenoid for the dual battery setup any good?

4. Does anyone know any good places to get tinting done i am in melbourne.

Thanks for your help guys
Shaun

1. I'm guessing 9r15 is similar to 30x9.5R15 (a 30" tyre.) 31x10.5R15 (a 31" tyre) will fit without too many problems, although you'll need 15x7" rims.

2. The front is torsion bar, and can be lifted by adjusting the torsion bars. If necessary, the bars can be "re-indexed" to achieve the ride height you may want. You'll need a decent wheel alignment afterwards.

Rear, you could:
  • add extended shackles - not legal in some states.
add air bags to bolster weak springs - not ideal.
add extra leaves to bolster weak springs - not ideal.
have your existing leaves reset for extra height - not bad.
replace your existing leaf springs with new "raised" springs.
3. Yes.

4. Not me. :D

Cheers,

Scott

Sorry Shaun - your NC has a leaf spring rear, the GQ Patrol has a coil spring rear.
