Jimny question

G'day all. I own a 04 jimny with a 2" spring lift. I intend on putting in a 1" body lift so I can run 30's. Is it possible first of all and is there any guard cutting involved? Also, how much does it change the power of the vehicle with the larger tyres on? Will it still perform well or better off road having the bigger tyres?
I've noticed some blokes on here are running 30's on a stock sierra with only a 2" lift. What is the major difference between the two vehicles?
Cheers all for you input

Gecko,
Zukiny here. Now that Jimnyworld is good as ''dead'' ........we are meeting up here.
Ok, 2" suspension and 1'' body lift on a Jimny is ok for 30" tyres on standard steel 5½ '' rims.
Some of our members are running this combo.
On extreme axle articulation the front tyres might contact the inner fender around the body seams and the rear tyres might also contact the inner fender area (forward of the rear tyres) . If you examine the arc of travel of your radius arms it is very apparent.
For the rear extending the bumpstops to prevent tyre contact with body parts is simple. For the front it's a more involved process as the bump stop resides in our coil springs. I'm using ''Air Lift'' air bellows as my front bumpstops.
Bigger tyres is for better axle clearance primarily and also the bling factor.
Gearing is ok as we do not do much rocks in out terrain just deep muddy ruts and vicious ''V'' gullies.
Hope this helps.
