Nah just go for it.

I did mine about 1.5 years ago :? In a charcol/Gunmetal style grey and look pretty good.

Thinking about red next :)

along the same lines, what preperation do i need to do to respray my rangie. Its red and i just want to respray it the same color so i dont have to worry about insides of doors etc. Overall the paint is ok , just very fadded and warn as red becomes. Do i just wash it and spray?

i recently sprayed mine white (was white beforehand)
All i did was fill in the little dings with blade putty, got them all smooth and primed them. Then just went over the whole car with wet and dry and soap to rough it up. Then sprayed.

Vogue if the paint is ok, just faded, have you tried using cutting polish on it? A mate of mine bought a very faded red toyota sprinter, and after about 2 hours worth of cutting and polishing, the thing looked brand new...
